The Passementerie Series subverts the relationship between ornament and function. Operating within a new hierarchy where ornament dictates the form, the materials, and the techniques used to create the object.

The Cord and Cordage tables are based on the use of cord in passementerie. Focusing on cord piping, a technique in which a flexible cord is couched down onto a ground material.


The forms showcased in these pieces are derived from the idea of cord piping negative space.
